Disney's 13th Princess Movie

That's right! Disney has now released its THIRTEENTH princess movie :)

1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
2. Cinderella
3. Sleeping Beauty
4. The Little Mermaid
5. Beauty and the Beast
6. Aladdin
7. Pocahontas
8. Mulan
9. Princess and the Frog
10. Tangled
11. Brave
12. Frozen
13. Moana

Moana was actually released to theatres in November, 2016.
It movie takes place in Polynesia, a long, long time ago... back when the world was new (HERCULES REFERENCE!).

Although I still love Frozen more <3, Moana is extremely close! Everything from animation, voicing, music, and storyline was AMAZING! If you're a lover of Disney's princess movies (or any Disney movies) THIS IS A MUST SEE!

But who's behind the voice?

Moana ~ Auli'i Cravalho
Also in: This is Auli'i's first movie!

Maui ~ Dwayne Johnson
Also in: Fast & Furious, GI Joe, The Rundown . . .

Tamatoa ~ Jemaine Clement
Also in: Despicable Me, Rio, The Muppets: Most Wanted . . .

"In Ancient Polynesia, when a terrible curse incurred by the Demigod Maui reaches an impetuous Chieftain's daughter's island, she answers the Ocean's call to seek out the Demigod to set things right." -IMDb

Zootopia

Zootopia is almost upon us! This small town is filled with all types of animals, no matter what they are. The police department receives its first bunny and Judy Hopps works hard to prove herself. It was no surprise to find out the fox has been labeled as a scam-artist; Disney doesn't seem to have changed much since Pinocchio...

If you are wondering, Zootopia is NOT Disney Pixar. This Disney movie seems to be original artistry work unlike most Disney movies. AKA you can usually tell when something is Disney and when something is Disney Pixar... Even so, I hope you're all as excited as we are!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Everyone has been waiting anxiously for the new Star Wars movie since what seems forever, and it's finally here TOMORROW!

This move takes place 30 years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire; Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford, and his allies fight against Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver, and his army of Stormtroopers to stop them from ruling the galaxy.

But will Disney do as great a job as the other Star Wars films? On one hand it's DISNEY, so of course they can do an amazing job! However, Star Wars is a classic that holds high standards and expectations...

"He took a worshiped pop-culture franchise with a rabid legion of disciples, treated it with respect, and made it matter again. ... When The Force Awakens ends, it feels bittersweet simply because you so badly want to get to the next chapter. So, yes, the wait is over. But now a new waiting game begins …” —Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly

What’s more, Abrams has united the original cast with a group of newcomers who mesh seamlessly with their elders, in an ensemble effort that brims with the chops and brio of a great jam session.” —Ann Hornaday, the Washington Post (bold added)

“The big news about ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is — spoiler alert — that it’s good! Despite the prerelease hype, it won’t save the world, not even Hollywood, but it seamlessly balances cozy favorites — Harrison Ford, ladies and gentlemen — and new kinetic wows along with some of the niceties that went missing as the series grew into a phenomenon, most crucially a scale and a sensibility that is rooted in the human.” —Manohla Dargis, the New York Times

5 Disney Characters We Wish Were Our Friends

Well, summer is coming to an end... With the rest of September ahead of us, another school *exciting* year is also ahead of us. What fun.

But wouldn't school be better if Disney characters were there? So I compiled a list of characters I would love being friends with!

Rapunzel

That one friend that always has too much energy, especially in the morning. She's really good at pretty much all the arts but has no idea what's going on in any other class. Rapunzel will be that person who doesn't understand any inappropriate references, because she's pure at heart.

Giselle

Whenever you're sitting there through a tough situation, Giselle will always know when to pop up and cheer you up! She knows that with a smile and song all your questions can be answered, your sadness will turn around, and your boredom will cease.

Olaf

Now this character may be goofy and funny most of the time, which might be exactly what you need at a long, boring day of school. However, he also knows when to put all the joking aside and help you find your true love.

Bert
He's that person who's into everything. A great friend for those classes you have no friends in, but is also interested in half the things you're interested it (as well as everything else...). Bert will convince you to show up to all the club meetings, and will be there at the ones you actually do.

Peter Pan
Peter will be that friend who practically never sleeps but somehow as all the energy. He's not all that interested in any subject except for student council. This character will prove to be a great leader but will get upset if the smallest thing doesn't go his way.

Mary Poppins

If you aren't already aware... I LOVE Mary Poppins :) Her tale is perhaps the best thing to have ever happened to the world! (or at least to me...)

However, there are some things to address, so let's get down to business (to defeat the- sawry, wrong movie).

Mary Poppins is sooo much chiller in the movie. All those out there who have actually read the books (yes, the movie is based on books and there's more than one book...) don't you totally feel me? (By the way, if you have failed to have read the book(s) yet~ 1. You have a sad, sad life... and 2. READ THEM!) I mean, Mary Poppins is so stuck up in the book, and I don't see why she should be; after all, her name was put as the title. It wasn't called "Jane and Michael" or "Ms Andrews" was it?

OOHHHHH It's A Jolly Holiday With Mary- oh, you're still here...oops :) Well, I think we can all agree (I hope so anyway...), that the music from Mary Poppins is practically the pinnacle of all Disney music (except for "Let it Go" but that goes without saying). We can thank the Sherman brothers for their magnificent contribution :) and for Ms Travers to allow Walt Disney to include the songs in the film.

And If you still don't think Mary Poppins is amazing... it has these two. So 'nough said.
